In order to support the development of and transition to a new concession program, the Port of Seattle retained the AirProjects team for a multi-year, on-call contract covering all concession analysis, planning, and leasing at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. AirProjects’ efforts included analysis and recommendations for management and leasing strategies, assisting with the leasing process, developing a concession master plan, and supporting the Port’s airport concession management team through leasing and implementation. Specific work included evaluating the existing concession program, analyzing comparable airport programs, developing a concession master plan and future leasing plans, and coordinating the outreach and leasing processes. AirProjects worked with Airport management to lease the new program, including development and implementation of comprehensive outreach efforts in the local/regional community to inform small and local businesses of the future concession opportunities. AirProjects supported the development of a small business program by implementing creative leasing and operating strategies, including modified solicitation requirements. AirProjects also assisted the Port in the negotiation of leases with selected concessionaires.
