AirProjects provided concession analysis and planning for Terminals One and Two at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. This work involved analyzing the existing concession program and developing a new concession plan that was both feasible and profitable for the airport operator and tenants. AirProjects also advised the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority on branding and theming strategies for the concession program in Terminal Two that would reflect the Raleigh/Durham area and develop a “sense of place.” AirProjects was also retained by the Authority to develop a new concession program for Terminal One when the terminal was being downsized and the gates consolidated into one portion of the terminal. Most recently, AirProjects was retained to develop a new concession master plan for Terminal Two as many of the initial leases (as a result of AirProjects’ initial work) will be expiring soon. The sales per enplanement as a result of the new program are tracking significantly above those in the prior Terminal Two. In conjunction with this effort, AirProjects analyzed the implications of various airline realignment scenarios and their impact on the concession program. AirProjects is also assisting with the development of a new pre-security concession plan as a result of a planned expansion of the security checkpoint.
